In My Eyes

I am a child, from neighborhood kickball, block parties, and swing sets.

I am a girl, with freckles and a mess of dark blonde curly hair that I never know what to do with.

I am a student, who struggles with deadlines, biology tests, and physics homework.

I am a teenager, who is probably too eager to grow up.

I am a daughter, of two wonderful parents who have guided me all my life.

I am a sister of a sports fanatic and academic genius.

I am a friend for the people who have always been there for me, and even the people who weren't.

I am a girlfriend of a man who reminds me it's okay to be different and that it's okay to laugh about it.

I am a runner who understands the word passion, the word pain and the dreaded workouts that consist of hills and repeat 1000's.

I am an American and Slovenian growing up with national pride, polka dancing, strudel, and kielbasa.

I am a shopper, whose weakness is shoes.

I am a cooker of noodles and boxed pizza at ten o'clock in the evening.

I am a baker that never fails to leave a mess of flour on the counter and spilled milk down the cabinet.

I am a learner of past mistakes.

I am a singer who will never have an audience bigger than shampoo bottles.

I am a dancer in the kitchen when no one else is home.

I am a lover of Christmas decorations, warm sweaters, toasty fires, and good movies.

I am a picker with fingers stained by the vibrant red strawberry juice from Rock Bottom Farms.

I am a traveller, flipping pages of books when I should really be sleeping.

I am a discoverer of life's ups and downs and the changes they bring.

I am an inventor of excuses to stay out later with friends just a little bit longer.

I am a builder of peace through friendships, relationships and authentic character.

I am a participant in the freedom of expression.

I am a reviver of the past, who holds onto grudges I shouldn't.

I am a listener who uses music as an escape from reality.

I am a fighter for what I believe, and no one can tell me different.

I am a dreamer who sees possibility everywhere.

I am a romantic who dreams of being swept of my feet by prince charming.

I am a worshiper who believes God has a plan for everyone.

I am a celebrator of birthdays, love, good grades, and great company.

I am an admirer of patience.

I am a believer of laughter, love at first sight, and miracles.

I am a leader who is not afraid to make my own decisions.

I am a worrier for the ones I love.

I am a seeker of trust and loyalty.

I am a survivor of heartbreak.

I am a go-getter, reaching for the stars in all I do.

I am a creator of love, laughter, and happiness.

I am a writer, who engraves secrets into stories to release emotion.

I am a human being who can laugh and cry, who can hurt and who can love.

I am a child, from neighborhood kickball, block parties, and sing sets.

I am now a woman who lives well, laughs often and loves much.
