My Dad Dyes His Hair

Sat, 01/04/2025 - 17:49 -- farhac

My dad dyes his hair purple,

to cover up the gray.

When he stands in the sun,

it might leave you in dismay.

But it doesn’t matter what color his head is,

he’s happy as long as he can sleep

where his family and his bed is.

My dad dyes his hair purple,

to match his dark circles.

You might think because of his age,

he’d be as slow as three turtles.

But he works like a cheetah,

with no time for margaritas,

just so his relatives and kids can

look up to him as a well respected man

My dad dyes his hair purple,

and washes it off in the shower,

While i lay in bed at night

and whisper to the sky for hours

I pray for forgiveness, peace, and love

I pray every night to the being above

For my dad i pray,

that his dark circles fade away,

that he sleeps with a smile,

that he won’t be decieved by anyone

for a long, long, while.

For my dad i pray,

he’ll live the life he wants

so then,

he won’t have to dye his hair purple

ever again.
