My "cross"

Matthew 10:37-39      New English Translation

37 “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not take up his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life because of me will find it.

My cross

Spiritually where does it start, and where is the beginning?

Is it with consecration where God demands it all?

All our love and all our heart from the first inning

But that will give a fatal blow to my own soul after all

To give everything I am and all that I want to do

The things that come so natural and I seem to enjoy

To have my wants and wishes that I developed when I grew

All that what I’ve call mine now needs to be destroyed?

Not to follow Jesus is really to deny Him

Not to pick up my cross is going the other way

And in doing so is ignoring God the Father

And that’s the end my friend as temporal fades away
