My Compliment

How does the day match the night ?

Opposites of shining bright

one dark, other light

of two

How does the ocean meet the shore?

does one want the other more?

one rich, one poor

of two

How does a tree reach the sky?

does it want to be a bird and fly?

one low, one high

of two

Of one there’s an equal opposite

and I met mine when our lips met

But his world is oh so different

Us two.

he is winter grey to my sunshine,

he’s the riverside of my thirst dry,

He’s as great as good could ever get,

He’s my compliment.

He is the energy to my simple lazy

He is sane to all my little crazy

He’s the greatest man I’ve ever met,

He’s my compliment.

How does left and right coexist?

instead of fighting, they assist

hold hands, make fists

of two

How do animals find their mate?

do you think they knew their love was fate?

they search, they wait

of two

How do words work in a paragraph

would mine make you cry or make you laugh?

a page, or a half

of two
