My Charity

Location

The good I strived for ended in naught

Except for the pain and evil I’d wrought.

Betrayal and sadness became my allies,

All of my comforts made from lies.

I harvested that which I did not sow,

All my past friends no longer I know.

I didn’t heed the warning told,

While I was young, when I became old.

I brought destruction, I brought death,

I brought sadness with every breath,

I chased away my every gift

Searching for something my spirit to lift.

I leave all distraught.

Happiness is not.
