My Black Soul

Sun, 01/05/2014 - 02:24 -- amcnab1

I don’t wanna be brown no more

I wanna be Black

Real Black

Pure Black

Not that nigga

can’t cross da street without holdin’ his belt

Not that nigga

talkin’ real Negroes be this

an’ White Man’s dun dat

I wanna be

Black                                  like the hair in my afro

Black                                  like my mama’s car drivin’ down Crenshaw Blvd. on a Sunday afternoon

Black                                  like how I feel when I am

Lonely, Empty, Just Me

I wanna be Black

Real Black

 Colorless,

just like my soul.
