When you came into this world you didn't choose your skin

Yet the world holds it against you and sometimes you feel like you just can't win

You try so hard to make them see

The greatness that your destined to be

But they misjudge and overlook you

When the sirens ring they're quick to book you

It's so hard to make them understand

What it's like for you as a black man

Like everyone else you're just trying to make it

Yet in this world you're constantly forsaken

They assume it's all good because of our presidents hue

Yeah our presidents black but what's that done for you?

In this so called land of prosperity

You're held back by the labels of society

I know your life is tough

But one day they'll see you the diamond in the rough

Beautiful brown brother

There is no other
