Hymns of the past remind me of a simple call to service

And an assurance of Salvation and the Power of God

It is me He tries to mold and prepare for His Purpose

In love and patience and not mechanical like a robot

He provides the Living Water that flows through the Holy Spirit

Direct into the spirit mine as “my life” sings the melody of Christ

My spirit then overflows with Him as He pours Himself in merit

Into everything I need to be for the lost and lonely in their strife

If “my life” quits singing Love’s melody for the Master

My spirit instead of celebrating Joy will slide into indifference

And I’ll drown in my own feelings and that so much faster

As the symphony of Life’s calling becomes my sullen hindrance
