Muddy Boot Dreams

The soft, damp, gray sky arcs above
Letting shimmering drops of rain on everything below
Dark brown splatters on the soft dirt
One blink and the whole world is wet
Vibrant green grass and yellow boots glow
A startling contrast against this universe of gray and brown
A splash, and the illusion of peace is shattered
Beads of mud are flung up in the air with the raindrops
They cascade down in messy droplets
Showering bright yellow boots with splotches of brown
A peal of laughter and the boots squish away to search of more puddles
Leaving only the sky and the grass having muddy boot dreams
