Mourning Sun

From sea to shining sea We see glean of what could beWith colors to match that of skies at sunriseIf only we'd just believe Believe the urban city scapeCan match the amber waves of grainIn unity not impunityThus is our county's bane We see fear breed hate, And separation of late Being the only means by whichWe can try to negotiate! Yet my love is yoursand your pain lies in meThereby laying to wasteAll that seeks to come between Without borders or fearOur hearts must draw nearFor sunrise would be dullIf our skies were just clear So love every brotherRegardless of color As every color adds To the mornings of summer The shades of dawn we must appreciateFor our land to be considered truly great
