Mountain of Ice

I often see my mind as a mountain of Ice,
A huge fortress of strength, intelligence and greatness.
Like a monolith that will last for eons,
And will spike the awe of the beholder.
Yet also each day a massive sliver falls into the sea below
A huge wall of ice,
that disappears like it was never even there.
Each day a sliver falls,
Slowly eating away at the mountain.
And I know that sooner or later that mountain will fall,
And collapse forever
Into the dark, cold abyss below,
Never to be seen, heard, or remembered
Ever again.
