Mountain Climbers

A subtle idea,

Small and seemingly meaningless,

Will soon take form, grow, evolve, consume

The endless hours that I lie awake searching my mind

For each miniscule detail. the smallest reason to push forward

Because one reason to push forward is worth more than a thousand reasons

To give up, to turn away, to forget the dream that I have been after since I took my first breath,

But now is too late to chase what would have changed my life, that which required work

I thought too hard, not worth my time, not possible, missing my chance

To be the great author of tomorrow, based on what I wanted today,

An insignificant roadblock, a distraction, a misplaced piece

connecting to the wrong puzzle, which forced me to

Give up on my dream job,

Give up on my life,

Give up on me.
