A Mother's Love
A mother's love should be forever and prevail to no end
On her endless love, her child can always depend
After conception, she will labor in pain
To bring forth her child, new life to gain
Consistently and continuously sacrifices she will make
For her child, she does whatever it will take
As a child, their scrapes, cuts and bruises she will tend
Hurt feelings and broken hearts with laughter she will try to mend
She catches them or picks them up when they fall
She's always there for them when they call
Unto her teenager, she should be one of their best friends
For them to talk, listen and confide their feelings deep within
She should be open, honest and she should not criticize
With them she should comfort, empathize and sometimes
sympathize
Now that her child is grown, she should not pretend
How a mother's love still does not end
How she bears their burdens and cry tears unseen
Her shoulders are still strong enough on which they can lean
A mother's love should be forever and prevail to no end
On her endless love, her child can always depend.
