Mother Of Two

Mother of two stuck in a child's body. Two beautiful children who's

lives have yet to begin but mother's seems to have come to a screeching halt of life.

How can I raise two when I am yet a child myself, more so mentally so the state says.

Stuck in the same position as though life is going but I am yet a piece of over-chewed gum stuck to an abandoned school desk. Left behind in a cancer race fighting for someone's

life that has barely begun but yet I know not where to start let alone end. These two beautiful

children that I have bared into this world looking upon me, mommy, to be the hero. Stuck, with no place to run, no place to duck and hide from the responsibility’s I have brung into my life.

Yet, I have no regrets, especially these two beautiful children. These two beautiful children

are not only my gift from God but my only way out of these sticky situations I get myself into.

My only problem is not keeping up with traffic. I have gone to fast and accidents have occurred

pushing me further back in this race I am trying to win. Now I am paranoid of going over 50

in a 65 mile zone. Life passing me by, scared to make a mistake, fear that these two beautiful

children will have to watch their mother fail. So I crawl as though they do hoping they as

babies will only think mommy is playing a game with us. But naturally I am mother of two stuck in a child's body.

Wow.... These are strong feelings expressed here. I especially liked the metaphor you used in this poem with the cars....sometimes when we forget to take things slowly we crash, but it is good that you recognize where you are at. You probably did not hope for any of the struggles that you are going through or the results from choices you've made, but like you said, your children are gifts from God. Just as their lives are not over yet, yours is not either. Get support. There are people who can help you take care of your children and find the means to provide for them. You can't change your past, but God can change your future. Enjoy the tender moments that you have with them, because you can become very strong and active once again. Thanks for sharing your poem!
