Mother Poetry

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your ears,

So I can tell you my darkest fears.

Help me grow as tall as a tree.

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your helping hands,

So I can be the one who understands.

Help me see the things I can't see.

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your voice,

So I can find the right choice.

Let people hear my plea.

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your shoulder,

So I can move this boulder.

Help me be free.

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your heart,

So I can see what is true art.

Help me see art's glory.

Mother Poetry,

Lend me your soul,

So I can fill this hole.

Help me find inner peace in me.
