Mother, not Mother
Mother, not mother,
You take such care for me.
I belong to not you,
Yet you treat me like me
Mother, you're not,
The one who gave birth to me,
You've built me up as a parent would,
Yet do the same for thousands of others.
Mother, I know,
I can be a disappointment,
Yet you don't punish me,
You send me on my way,
Knowing I'll come back soon.
Mother, I ask why,
You give me such kindness,
You say you want the best for me,
Years fly and you were right.
Mother, not mother,
You have done so much for me,
Although you're not my mother,
As a teacher, you are to me.
Thank You for everything you do, and all the love you give.
Love to you from my senior year, Thank you, Mrs. Adams.
