Mother, I am sorry

Mother Earth, I am so sorry

Apologizing on behalf of all your inhabitors

I weep as I caress you with my hands in the dirt

We have disrespected you Mother

It is too late to make it right

I am sorry that we have poisoned your waters, your blood

I am sorry that we have made your air unbreathable

I am sorry we have buried the bones of our dead in you from wars fueled by greed

Mother

I am so sorry

We have disrespected you

Poisoned you out of selfishness

We have hurt you in unimaginable ways

We do not deserve your forgiveness
