Mother

To my sweet mother,

Oh how you can be so kind

Next to who raised me

The heat you fight with

The rain that calms my temper

The breeze that feeds life

The siblings you grant

Your children fill me with proof

That today is true

Birds cheer to remind

The storm has yet to fall but

Sun remains to shine

I have found the place

That I think in retrospect

Where mother listens

Sweat drips as clouds hang

As long as the sky above

Continues to watch
