The Moon Dance

Those moments

Staring

At that sky

That midnight California sky

When the  moon came out to play with the clouds

They danced like children

They did the waltz

The tango

They even took a moment to just breathe

And hold each other

As they slow danced into the next hour

They twirled as they played ballerina

And ran through the night air

The crickets called to them

Asking if they could join

But they were having so much fun

They couldn't hear the bugs cheer

So the crickets kept calling

And the moon kept dancing

The clouds followed along

And the whole night was spent staring

At the moon dancing with the clouds
