Monsters
When I was little,
I dreamed of monsters coming in the dark to eat me up
The big horrible kind with matted fur and curling horns and scales and really big, sharp teeth.
As I got older, I continued to dream about monsters.
Only this time, I didn't need to imagine my monsters, you see--
The world eagerly provided them for me.
What kind of society do we live in
When so many men think we only exist to give them pleasure?
What kind of country do we inhabit
When the media tries to excuse mass murder,
And millions take the side of the killer?
The actions of this twisted little monster of a man
(I will not honor him with his name, no, not today)
Were not only the product of personal insanity.
Rather, his hideous worldview and all others like it
Were born of the international malady known as mysogyny
But the part of this that is society's fault
Doesn't will never keep me from hoping that
Hell is nice and hot.
