That day I protested the draft.
I don't believe in what they are doing.
Why should I fight for that?
unimaginable,
Unexpected,
Terrible.
That was how that day went.
We were all going to protest the war.
Why should I be forced to fight for such an inhumane cause?
Death,
Darkness,
Tragedy.
It wasn't supposed to get like that.
We were going to be peaceful,
But anger still raged in some hearts. Mine included.
Boiling,
Burning,
Seething.
How dare they force us to give up our own lives?
Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Life, a right? That's funny.
Is that why you disguise the infringing upon that right as a "draft"?
Freedom,
Free-will,
Lies.
That's what I protested that day, the lies.
They even sent the National Guard to silence our voices.
Not mine.
I spoke out. I continued to speak out.
People got violent. They threw rocks.
Why fight back with the thing that we came to speak out against?
Bullets,
Blood,
Darkness.
I never once threw a rock.
Violence was never the answer. That is what I came to say.
I died fighting to stay alive.
