Moments

Location

I am from a packed down pavement on Main Street, USA

My eyes drawn to the end of a long line of shops and stores to see a palace set for a princess.

Sweat slowly strolls down the nape of my neck and I rush to fast pass space mountain.

A day in Disney is a part of me.

I am from astonished eyes judging like daggers at my back

As I confidently stroll away from a 162 meter jail I had put so much work into.

Heart racing, hands shaking, I walk into the sun and finally feel free.

Quitting volleyball is a part of me.

I am from familiar salutations after a long Sunday service.

Filling my plate with a family recipe that contradicts the icy breath October breathes.

Dirty plates pile up as the sweet smell of nearly finished cookies wafts throughout the house.

Sunday dinner is a part of me.

I am from parading through the pink clad bleachers of students,

Testing my vocal chords as I call above the sounds of cheers and chants of Friday Night Football,

Folded up bills and dingy coins bequeathed from shockingly altruistic student section.

Breast Cancer Awareness Night is a part of me.

I am from snippets of life flashing by like the wheels on a racecar.

Like the meticulous hands of a sculptor carving an identity from the shell of a person I am.

A minute detail in my everyday life.

Moments are a part of me.
