A Modern Woman

First I was a Mother.                                                                       1

Then I was an Old womb tied up in ropes.

Then I was sold to give a Dopamine rush,

to the man with the whip to make by back blush.

Then I was an Evangelist, oh freedom thou is near!                      5

Then I was a Reminder, cover me up!

Then I was a Nobody, a big, black

SPACE

Then I was a Woman,

Still very Obsolete.                                                                          10

Manning myself with knowledge,

Arming peers with poetic liberation.

Never shall my weapon be taken from me!
