Modern Leaders

Job 12:24 New English Translation (NET Bible)

24 He deprives the leaders of the earth
of their understanding;
he makes them wander
in a trackless desert waste.

Modern Leaders: Hopefully, some exceptions

Am I leading the pack waving with empty hands?

Trying to fill the need of some in this darkened land

Promises stacked in heaps not to be actualized

Vows are made and broken to show I fantasize.

A single show of emptiness supporting the only hoax

With the power that never was, misleading many folks

Like a circular saw collecting dust for the lack of energy

Never to be used to build again upon the gift of synergy

“I did not know!” A useless excuse for my chosen blindness

“I read the bible and go to church!” My form of kindness

“I cared a lot, you know!” but really, for only me and mine

Now you state it was like “throwing pearls before the swine.

Oh! Here I go with my soul in tow in a similarly patterned circle

Trying to be a guide to them, who are pruned like a grape-myrtle

Making all feel: Oh! I'm so good with the excuses I am making

And then we’ll all travel together, not knowing why we’re faking
