Modern Beauty-Poetry Slam Scholarship Entry

She walked the hallowed halls

To answer her prayers as she silently stood

Searching for someone to call

Unveiling her golden locks from a neutral hood

A swarm of onlookers gathered around

Her beauty took over the strongest men

A whispered plea drowned out by the sound

Of many young suitors; Quiet and zen

Is all that she wished for

For one person to see

She was more than just beauty

More than just the name, Aphrodite.
