The Mirror

Location

I look in the mirror

I don’t expect what I see

The reflection is not mine

Looking so perfect

With make-up, pretty hair

And a fabricated smile

The mirror of my soul

Is so much deeper

And darker

Doubts haunt me

Insecurities plague me

But to others I’m that pretty girl

Whose reflection’s in the mirror

So I look in the mirror

Trying to see what others do

And be who they want me to be
