Mindless

Proverbs 21:8

The guilty walk a crooked path;
the innocent travel a straight road.

Mindless

Here we are on the way to nowhere

Me, myself and I all alone walking hand in hand

The roadmap that we follow drawn in my head

And that my dear brethren no one understands

“Always follow the leader” is printed in my head

If we follow close enough we won’t get lost

Myself in the lead somehow ready to blame others

And if we lack progress they alone will pay the cost

Yes we’re quite a trio as nameless we travel on

We don’t seem to talk too much but just complain

Our voices in harmony repeating the same song

About lost dreams and the reoccurrence of pain

We are almost at the starting point to go again

Ready to crawl at length in search of the finish

Me and self-dressed in despair wearing number one

We’ve come a long way without the need to replenish

The parade of one is surely unimpressive

Not anyone but a smiling donkey and me

All alone before us and shackles on my back

Singing repetitiously: “look I’m being free”
