Mind over Matter

Wed, 06/08/2016 - 15:44 -- trevork

A product of society. Must be nice I dream, well what is nice to them?

They own us and they know it, they own us and we know it

Convincing ourselves we have made great progress

but remember, a child is only silent once you give it a toy.

It might not be chains and wipes but its brands and politics,

Finding my feet is impossible when the grounds they built for us aren’t the same.

Nails and spikes I bleed, I sweat for the same change your daddy give.

But it’s all dollars and sense, a piece of paper will defeat a mighty sword

but no earthly force can defeat a determined heart.

Mind over matter my hustle is your bread and butter.

A hundred on a piece of cloth and a thousand on shit that don't even matter.

A hundred on a piece of cloth but yet priceless is the peace I seek.
