Miel y Leche

Am I tainted now? I’m asking out of curiosity.

My darling, sweet child of mine,

Don’t blame yourself for this act of atrocity.

A twisted man crossed the line,

And treated your young holy body with animosity.

In your innocence you did not know,

The hands that tore you apart like a paper doll

Will be shackled- this evil man, this foe.

Don’t bow your head in shame, be brave and stand tall,

Blossom, flourish, become a new woman and grow!

Embrace your broken pieces and create a mosaic,

For you my darling are a true work of art,

Colorful with a meaning not easily defined, so complicated,

You don’t even fully comprehend despite being smart.

You are not a victim, but a survivor of a story created,

By abuse and perversion, a family friend with no heart.

But that doesn’t mean you should be the same way,

Don’t hold any grudges and sow seeds within,

Roses and violets and marigolds and poppies per say,

Love yourself, build yourself up, and transcend what he did.

Don’t allow hatred to scatter the Earth through you,

When you speak, speak with patience and understanding

Speak with Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey

Listen to me darling, don’t be so hard on yourself.

I won’t, thank you Rupi Kaur.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
