Midnight Forest

A howl pierces the cold winter night,

Its ringing chaining man to the firelight.

Swift shadows dance around the ring

While a voice continues to sing.

Wolves glide over the frozen snow,

Free and strong, running where they wish to go.

Frolicking, playing, panting,

As one are their hearts beating.

Howls shatter the silent, frosted sky,

The chorus fading while the forest lets out a sigh.

Quiet paws tread lightly over the earth,

Soldiering on until the world’s rebirth.

Great detail! I could practically see the night before me.
