Message In A Bottle

Location

Used to the constant gunfire since you first set sail,

This time is different.

This time their cannons have crashed too deep.

Slam the galley doors as water floods from the ducts,

Choking out your cries.

Press a pen to the page but it can't quite cut lines like an exacto.

The secrets spill like blood.

Every word runs together.

A signed SMS:

Save My Ship.

A cork can barely contain the contents,

It floats effortlessly even with the weight of your world inside,

And all the while you're still sinking.

It falls on shore to dead ears and dead eyes,

Hear no evil see no evil,

That's what they all say.

But they'll realize,

Eventually,

They've left you stranded,

Face down in the Red Sea.
