The Mentor Around The Corner

The mentor that never lives

But still is always arriving

With opportunities to give

It depends on whether I am striving

To take those chances given to me

The future is my mentor

For it is who I will be

Not who I was before

A hope of greatness beyond that front door.

I take my every single day

Working harder and seeing bigger

Hoping the effort will pay

And a great future will trigger

The future has taught me failure,

the power of being humble

and consequences of misbehavior

strengths that make me never crumble.

The future is who I am.
