the Memories We Will Carry
Location
I feel I am still asleep
as I walk these white washed halls,
wishing the summer I could keep,
wishing I wasn't here at all.
With summer's end brings the books,
the homework, the restless nights,
if the administration would even care to look
they'd see we're losing our fight.
But while I walk these white washed halls
I never need to worry,
my friends will be there when I call
these days we'll never need to hurry.
Because these are the days we'll remember most
when we're old and weary,
when we're turning into ghosts
these memories we'll see clearly.
Memories of these days of change
how we will learn who we are,
how our lives we will learn to re-arrange
like constellations with their stars.
So yes, school can be a bore,
and yes, it can sometimes be tiring,
but here our dreams will learn to soar
and our futures will be awe-inspiring.
