Memories of Taiwan and China

A memory

of the placid jungle stream

filled with silvery fish

of the flutter of butterfly wings against the lush green of the forest

of the waterfall, flowing as if it came out of the cliffs itself

A memory

of a stormy summer sea

waves as high as trees, flooding the roads above

of the beach filled with coral sands and the vibrant reef below

of the magnolia flowers as white as the moon in the night

a memory of a frozen waterfall

the snow-dusted Great Wall

of the lonely gazebo standing admist the skeleton trees

of the field of grey and white stretching as far as the eye can see.
