The Memories

I’m here to tell my story

About the hateful man and I

About how he took my dignity

Made me scared, made me cry

He hurt me on the insides

In more ways than one

He hurt me on the outside

Said that he was “having fun”

It wasn’t fun for me though

Not one single bit

When he forced his way within me

I could feel my insides rip

I’m here to tell my story

But I’m so scared he’ll find out

I know he’s locked away somewhere

But my mind is still in doubt

When he had me held captive

And he pinned me to the bed

With his own body pushed upon me

I might as well have been dead

I’m not sure how I survived

I guess God was on my side

I’m here to tell my story

Of why I’m still alive
