Memories

As the ocean began to swallow me

I remembered

Our first kiss

The way my parents were proud

How much I loved the outdoors

My first trip to my dream state

The first real friend I ever had

The memories that made me who I am.

As the ocean dragged the last breath from me

I remembered

Our last kiss

The way my parents were disappointed

How the world took my trees

That trip when I realized it was just us

When I lost my best friend

The memories that destroyed who I was.
