No words no thoughts
Just memories floating
Out of mind into reality
Where I tried to keep
Them hidden away
So I wouldn’t have to
Have unwanted visits
From them, in hallways
Backed up into a corner
Trying to pretend like
They didn’t just call my name.
Trying to act like I didn’t
Just make eye contact with them
They see through me
Like an x-ray
Exposing all the pain
And all the guilt
The guilt from pretending
To be alright so I can make it
Make it in a world full
Of memories trying to
Catch up to me and
Let me know they
Won’t ever leave me alone

The Frozen Arsonist

I like how you made the memories seem like tactile objects; you gave them a slught sense of personality. Poetry's a great place for personification. I like the poem itself, too. It's pretty good.

Thank you so much. I write when I feel a specific emotion. It is the best way to express how I feel without revealing too much information.
