Melancholy Shore

There's barbed wire wrapped,

Around my soul.

Like puppet strings,

That others pull.

I march to the beat,

Of my family's drum.

And fear for my sanity,

Which I know is gone.

I keep a straight face,

But inside is war,

I'm a prisoner trapped,

On this melancholy shore.

This poem is about:
My family
