This Is Me

Location

This is me.
I’m not a kid anymore, I’m grown now.
Don’t tell me I can’t go to the college where I want.
Don’t tell me what I should major as.
Don’t tell me what I should pick as a career.
Don’t tell me I can’t do it.
Don’t tell me what to do.
This is me.
I’m not a kid anymore, I’m grown now.
Don’t tell me I’m bound to fail.
Don’t tell me I’m ordinary.
Don’t tell me I’m foolish.
Don’t tell me I’m naïve.
Don’t tell me who I should be friends with.
This is me.
I’m not a kid anymore, I’m grown now.
I know what I’m doing.
Trust me that I am responsible.
Don’t you understand how the negativity hurts me?
Don’t you see it’ll only make me prove you wrong more?
This is me.
This is who I am.
This is me achieving greater things in life.
This is me wanting you to trust and believe me.
This is me wishing you could understand me eventually.
This is me hoping you’ll accept me as me.
