I wear the mask each and every day.
I wear the mask to fool not only myself, but the people all around.
I wear the mask,
to hide such imperfections,
silence my moans that scream for help,
to suppress the needs of breaking down,
to conceal the marks left on my skin,
to cover the dry tears that stain my cheek
I wear the mask,
as a cloak to hide my true emotions,
as a way of leading into a clearer direction,
to avoid such useless questions,
as an approach of telling myself, “I’m not useless,” even for a second,
as a great path to an acting career.
But behind the mask, is a life not wanting to exist.
And with the mask, is a pitch perfect fantasy.
