Masquerade

Today I'll wear my happy mask, because I'm feeling sad

And I've worn out my tired mask, from the weeks that I've been mad

At my friend who wears his loving mask, when he looks at her,

And she's wearing her bitchy mask, because she's insecure.

Because she wonders what's behind the masks, of those she wants to know,

Because despite how well they wear their masks the looks in their eyes show

That somwhere deep beneath their masks, their hearts are full of fear

That who they are behind their masks will one day, dissapear.

I adore this with all of my heart because it rings so true.

Thank you so much. I wrote this because it is what I see in the faces of everyone at school.
