Masks

Location

I am a masked face in the distance,

Hidden behind such a complex veneer.

Do you recognize this regretful existence?

Covered by shadows in a land shrouded in fear,

Many people shiver at this unsettling sight.

Unless you look deep beneath the pitch black,

You will never ever see the bright blazing light.

Be not of apathy-- be an angel of attack.

I don't know and may never meet you, my friend,

But I hope you know what I mean by this:

I love you until my heart's untimely end.

Pretty please accept, my waning, fading kiss.

Wait, what's this I have just begun to see?

All have masks, but all have the skeleton key.
