A Martyr's Sonnet

Location

Once upon a time, she was his precious little girl

Back then, no one could say anything about him

He’d look at her and see diamonds and pearls

One day his heart changed and her life went grim

The bond between a father and his daughter

Is considerably unmatchable and distinct

This is a conspiracy! That man is a plotter!

He broke a chain of love that was once linked!

The girl loses everything a martyr, indeed.

Baffled villagers are heard shouting from the street

Forsaken by her father, her rationale concedes

The people never imagined him to impose such deceit

This girl is broken.

This girl has spoken.
