Martyr

Heb 11:25  Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

martyr

How can I defend myself – I have only some notion?

Will I be prepared when trouble comes my way?

The danger from without seems a daily devotion

That cannot be shared as I search for Light of day

The enemy within is wading in slow motion

Looking for the moment to wipe me of my feet

Not aimed at my posterity but at my emotion

An attack from behind to bring me to my knees

Who is prepared to withstand an attack detrimental?

Who is strong enough to take that defeat?

Who can observe and not be sentimental?

Who can go beyond frustration and just weep?

Who loves the joy that death will bring one day?

Who dares to step for another into the Eternal?

Who wills to give his own life freely away?

Who will drink the call of the paternal?

Who has the patience for self to change?

Who will die to self a sacrificial suicide?

Who will let his death to be a life rearranged?

Who will keep the purity of God’s only Bride?
