A Man's Power

I brush my lips across my abusers cheek
They say the abuse lies skin deep, but I say it rests in my heart
Another night we spend like this, all snuggled up like we loved
But we did not feel love, we felt resentment deep within
My innocence gone all because he didn't listen to a simple no
His thoughts idle as I unwillingly agreed to finally let this go on
It was a deadly cycle, the abuse was
As he brushed a hand against my bruised cheek I knew that he was not heaven-sent
He was not my lover or a man that will hover over to protect me
He was a monster, a monster with lies so gold
His touch soon made me cold
Deeper in is when I sunk deeper down
And then the truth finally spilled about
He was my demon sent to torment me
And I was his toy that was used for pleasure and affection
