The man Who Cries

Location

Lebanon

Don't hide your pain

behind your eyes

I can see it in your

innocent lies

You never laugh at my jokes anymore.

I know they're  really lame,

but your smiles never reach your eyes anymore.

Your heart feels so sore

You keep it hidden

far, far beneath.

It suffocates you;

you no longer breathe

The pain that flashes

in your eyes

the hurt buried

in those distant sighs

Head high, spine straight, march with pride

I know you never liked to cry

Your eyes are empty

your hands so cold

your face so pretty

now seems terribly old

Please

don't hide the pain you feel

don't wait for the past to forgive you

in time, your heart will heal

Don't hide your pain

behind your eyes

I can hear it

in those lengthy sighs

don't crumble inside

don't make me watch

as you break down like a tide

on the rocky beach

It breaks my bleeding heart

to see such agony in those-once lively-eyes

you're drifting apart

with each of your broken lies

I can see it in your empty food trays

the way you spend your sunny days

how you prefer the rainy ones

so don't hide your pain

behind your eyes

I can see it in your dimming lights

head high

your pain is mine

spine straight

when you hurt, i hurt inside

march with pride

but it's okay for a man to cry
