That Man in the Sky was always my Friend

That man in the sky was always my friend

When the tears started flowing he was there to hold my hand

Those dark nights curled up in bed

Were the days I remembered better

Than the happy memories in the back of my head

Then the man in the sky said, "I love you, my child."

And everything seemed to be okay, for a while.

I made more friends as the days went on

I tossed the mask that I had so shamefully worn.

Then I found out, He wants me to be His friend too.

Isn't friendship a game meant for two?

But this wasn't a game, no

It was so much more than that

It was getting to know the man that always had my back.

I realized that praying aloud wasn't my style.

You see the truth is, I hadn't done it in a while.

So that man waited patiently,

While I thought very axniously

of how to get in touch with him.

I sat down in bed, my journal opened up

The blank page made me cringe.

Here I write of all my problems

and they always embarrase me but

That man in the sky he loves me either way.

With my pen in hand I write as neatly as I can,

"Dear God,"

And that's how it all began.
