a man is falling apart

Tue, 08/09/2016 - 23:19 -- sjp97

erratically,

senselessly,

he walks along ,

with his broken facade.

an echo of what once was,

what will never be.

losing himself,

but not entirely.

Its still there,

in bits and pieces.

What he did,

what he liked.

friends,

acquaintances,

hobbies.

like puzzle pieces,

trying to fit together.

but never right.

Confused,

alone,

but he doesn't reach out for help.

he has forgotten how.

had he ever been whole?

hadn't it always been this?

he recognizes people,

but they are strangers.

they say he's different now,

that he was fun

and happy,

but those words don't make sense.

he sees the logic,

but doesn't understand.

he isn't sad.

lost,

confused,

but not sad.

merely content,

that his is him.

how he is now.

how he never was.

how he will never be again.
