Make Yourself

Before I was born, it was already determined

A girl in this life is a second class citizen

If I want to defy that, then I must act like a man

This life of hypocrisy doesn't always go as planned

I loved to read and write, so they said to be a teacher

But I also loved to debate, investigate, and exploit corruption

They said i can't be everything in life

To pick one path and make it right

But I knew I can do everything I put my mind too

I just had to ignore the outsiders view

The haters, instigators, and pessimistic people who think women are less because they can't handle the real truth.

But the reality is that this life could've been better if women had a view.

I pity the media and its idea of what they think women are.

They know nothing of who I am, and if they did, They'd just exploit me to man and say I'm an exception at hand.

I grew up ignoring the hate, but not letting it desensitize me from what's at stake.

Because to be something in life, is to want it from your heart and feel it in your soul.

To succeed is to be genuine and real.

The drive and the thrill! Push yourself and don't lose patience.

This is MY life, I refuse to let anyone shape it.

Live by your perspective, not anyone else's.

Don’t get sucked into the blackness.

The illusion looks real but I promise you its all plastic.

This life is a battle and were on the field every day.

Figuring out where to go and what to say.

The meaning of life is what YOU do with it.

If you follow the crowd, then you have no definition.

I write this to you, in the process of figuring out myself.

My meaning comes out the day the pen drops from my hand.

If you remember me, then I did my part. I defied all odds of who I was to be, and made myself.
