make america ****

america the free, that's what they say

i am free, that's what they say

you're free they say

i am free

but the skinhead across the street believes that kissing another girl is a crime punishable by death, and i have just been convicted

but the man second in line for the oval office would rather mix water and lightning, create a condensed storm just for me, than see me hold a hand with painted nails

but the people of this country, america the free, refuse to look as the killings go on, as my brothers and sisters and everyone in between are murdered in the streets of the towns and cities they call home because someone decided that killing is justified as long as the victim was gay

it looks like they're right.
